ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR HOUSE DIY

Bicycle Storage: Creative Ideas For Indoors

If you have a lot of bicycles to store, it can be hard to decide how to go about it. By looking at some creative bicycle storage ideas, you can figure out the best way to ensure that your bikes stay protected and organized without taking up too much space in your home or garage. Here are some easy bike storage ideas you can use as inspiration for your own organization system.

Attic or Loft

One of my favorite bicycle storage ideas for smaller homes is to use your attic or loft space. I know, not all homes have either of these, but if you do, it’s a great place to store your bike. In most cases, it’s plenty of space and doesn’t take up floor or wall space. If you don’t have an attic or loft, try looking around for an unused room in your home that you can turn into a man cave. Then put your bike there when not in use! (don’t forget lock)

Wall Mounted Bicycle Racks

As bike storage goes, wall-mounted racks are pretty slick. They’re convenient and they make it easy to stow your ride out of sight. These racks can be easily concealed behind a door or tucked away in a closet or alcove. Wall mounted bike racks, like other kinds of bike storage, come in a wide variety of styles and designs, so you’ll have no trouble finding one that suits your taste (and your home’s decor).

Garage Bike Shelves

To save space, it’s a good idea to install bike shelves on garage walls. First, you’ll need to install shelves made for bikes, which are thicker and sturdier than standard shelves. You can attach these directly to your garage wall or hang them from hooks screwed into studs in your wall. If you want your bikes locked up when they’re not in use, secure them with a bike lock hung from one of your hooks.

Bike Hooks for Walls

If you’re fortunate enough to have a garage or shed, it’s a good idea to take advantage of vertical space by hanging your bike on hooks on your wall. If you can’t swing that kind of storage space, however, there are still some options out there for storing bikes with limited ground-level storage.

Metal Hanging Wall Hooks

If you are looking for a simple, straightforward way to store your bicycle, you may want to consider hanging it from a metal wall hook. This allows you to keep your bike upright and safe, as well as easily accessible. You can find plenty of these in most hardware stores. They also come in a wide variety of colors and finishes so that they look good when mounted on your wall.

Free Standing Bicycle Shelves

Bicycle storage shelves are an awesome way to store your bicycle at home. If you’re looking for a safe, attractive, and inexpensive place to put your bicycle when it’s not in use, consider building some freestanding bicycle shelves using cheap cinder blocks and pipe fittings. In fact, all you need is a few basic materials and tools, plus around two hours of time.

Wooden Bicycle Racks

A wooden bicycle rack is perfect for small spaces. They look great and can easily be hung on a wall or placed on a countertop. You can even drill holes in them and mount them to your wall with suction cups to store your bikes in an out-of-the-way place, like above a kitchen sink.
